I've had the scale for a while, but so far I'm perfectly happy with it, I've had 2 touch scales before and with "bang on" type batteries. They both stopped working and both the buttons and the batteries were dropping out of them (they were different brands of scales, but the same type of problem).
Can be used with or without bowl

Squeeze buttons (before I had touch buttons and they worked "on password")
Weighing not only bulk, but also water and milk
Raised rim so the bowl doesn't slide off
Pencil batteries last longer than "pips" in my experience, plus I can use rechargeable
The raised rim is also a minus, because some bowls or jars are harder to hold on the scale
