But what is incomprehensible and unacceptable is the state in which the disc arrived. The top metal cover of the disc is visibly battered in several places and the disc must have suffered some pretty solid bumps in transit. And the fact that the disc only comes in an anti-static bag doesn't help either. The drive itself works, but it's hard to say what effect the scratches will have on the operation and life of the drive. I'm beginning to understand why Synology wants to control what its customers put in their NASes as drives. Such treatment of such delicate and expensive goods is incomprehensible and inexcusable by the alza or its suppliers.
