I needed a replacement for reading CF cards after my Kingston reader died and this was probably the best choice, especially with the ability to use my own cable. I've seen that almost everyone is making extra short cables these days. This one is a bit longer, but only USB-C for a change. However, a very ordinary alzapower cable solved it and the reader works without any problems (it is not unavailable, the same cable was also with the previous reader and the external HDD frame)
Another plus for me is the fairly high weight and the rubber pads, which makes the reader stable and doesn't pull the cable to suit.

I had to get a fast reader for CF and SD cards, and this is a good one, with real USB3 speed (noname readers you can buy from Aliexpress are only USB2, which is way too slow for downloading several gigabytes) and quality CF slot, with no danger of bending a pin. The supplied cable is very short, only about 37 cms long, it's OK for connecting to a laptop, but not if this reader is on the table and a tower cased computer under your desk. No problem though, it is easy to get a long USB3 replacement cable (there is one false review here that mentions this has a special cable, but that is BS of course, not true: this is a standard "USB3 - micro B" type, and make will do. See attached image of a 3rd party, long cable with gold plated plug, the original cable on top of it. Both has the same connectors)
