If you care about the effect of drops, the device fulfills it. If you're only looking for a diffuser look for a classic one, save yourself the nerves of the sounds and worrying about the water ratio.
Water drop effect
The steam ejector hisses and (I assume the pump) rattles again and it is quite annoying, no sound of running water is heard over these sounds. Through the closed door, you can hear that the device is on.
You have to find the ratio of water that should be in the device, according to the top line can not be controlled, when the water is closer than 1cm to the line the device just snorts and does not start.

Calming effect, great relaxation
I read somewhere that it's noisy. I don't agree with that. The butterfly pushes the water out to circulate, but it doesn't disturb us in any way. So we're good.
The water drops can also be "stopped" and released downwards.
