I switched from the Grit X (not the Pro) so a big jump, most of all one sees the difference in the display, it is heaven and duds, in direct sunlight great to read even though I only have the brightness at medium luminosity, plus it is bigger at almost the same size of the watch (less than 2mm diameter difference) so overall clearer. In addition, it is significantly more subtle, the colors are colorful. just like a cell phone screen.
- The heart rate sensor - the biggest surprise for me, the first watch not only from Polar that does not show me nonsense, at least when walking and quiet running, the difference against the H10 or Verity Sense minimal. I don't think it's for intervals, but I haven't tried it, even on the bike, where I have them on a bracket, but for quiet activities it's probably fine.
- GPS - definitely better, even between apartment buildings or in the woods it now shows really decently - tested when walking, at low speed all watches have a problem with it, from faster running to cycling it is always fine or at least significantly better. You can see that the dual frequency makes sense and the antenna is well thought out.
- Altitude profile - another thing that pleasantly surprised me, first Polars that record it well, against Strava sometimes a small difference, but overall it fits, probably due to the link to the maps and not to the barometer. Thanks to this, the altitude fits quite well, which can be corrected either manually or via maps.
- Controls - easy, actually no significant change from previous ones, some things could be improved.
- Thumbnails - probably could use more than just 4 fields per screen, but the truth is it's clear. The various full-screen graphs are then fine, top current value, middle graph, bottom average and max. Value. OK by me.
- Maps - I haven't used this even on Garmins, I tend to check occasionally if it records the route well. I don't rate the navigation either, I find it a useless feature, it doesn't have such a big display, I just pull out my phone and look at it.
- Endurance - I have them for the first week, so hard to say, the first 5 days with a few workouts, a few tests + playing with them took 49% of the battery, so the 10days in smartwatch mode might fit. Charging takes quite a bit longer than with the Grit X, it's not for 30minutes, but more like 2-3hours.
- Sleep - so I didn't do that with the Grits, they bothered my hands at night, these hardly bother me at all, differences in shape etc. they are small/minimal, but they just fit significantly better on my hand, they don't get in the way, so I take them at night, and they are incredible stalkers, the evaluation of the first 7 nights so far corresponds to how I feel - I slept well/poorly, I feel better or not so much. I don't know how they do it, but it works.
