We had a Philips iron for about 17 years, then one time it hesitated and the thermostat didn't turn on, now it's working again. So I bought a new Philips, thinking it would be more advanced for the time. Wrong. Of course they iron. But, some moron suggested shortening the cord from three to two meters and lo and behold, it makes a mess, I can't reach where I used to just fine. There's a steam shock button on the bottom of the handle, so it's hard to hold, plus it's unnecessarily heavier, taller, has a sort of new descaler dispenser (unnecessary, I poured hard water from the line into the previous piece and nothing happened). So overall, I was disappointed.
