I've been using it for 3/4 years, it works reliably. I can't fault the fingerprint reader either. Works for me with complete reliability. It doesn't work if your fingers are wet. We bought it for our young daughter so she wouldn't have to use the numeric code. However, the reader has a problem with small fingers and there is already a fingerprint recognition success rate of only about 30%. I don't think it's the reader's fault, but rather the way the kids put their fingers on the sensor. I recommend it.
