We have tried quite a few and so far Hausbrandt Academia is the winner. This one is similar in taste and maybe this one is a bit more lively, positively meant. Hausbrant I can buy a kilowatt for half the price, although until recently I was buying it for a similar price to this one. So we'll see if a little better coffee wins out over a significantly higher price. However, leaving aside the one I buy and if I can't get a bargain, we'll be buying this one as it's really good and maybe the best espresso machine I know.; -)
