This was one of the candidates to replace the M1 Macbook Air and iPad Air. The requirement was a convertible design and, if possible, the lowest possible noise level with reasonable performance. On the third attempt, a suitable model was selected. I hereby apologize to Alza for the returned pieces. I've managed to moderate the noise so that in my typical usage it runs almost always passively cooled, blowing off 2-3 times per hour. When connecting a second screen and some USB peripherals through the hub in the monitor, the frequency of cooling increases, but during the day when there is something going on around you can't hear the cooling, in a quiet room you can hear it, but it's not a hair dryer. Of course, with prolonged load in a higher power profile, the cooling will already be audible. This is set to keep the CPU at 62°C in the long term and depending on the cooling mode used, it keeps the fan speed and dynamically adjusts the PL1 power (15W quietest, 25W max perfromance), short term PL2 ranges from 25 to 64W depending on the mode selected.
I bought unpacked, almost 10% lower price. No signs of use - the battery had two cycles and the drive about 20 hours. I was surprised that the original open Lenovo cow was sealed in foil, I wouldn't even notice that it was unwrapped, just the extra plastic waste...
Excellent rigid metal construction
The hinges are very rigid, the display does not stick in any of the positions and at the same time can be opened with one finger
The surface finish is finger-resistant.
The keyboard has a relatively short travel and doesn't feel as resistant as some others, but overall it is very easy to type on
Touchpad is plastic, precise and feels nice to use
Integrated webcam cover for those who want maximum security.
Good battery life - HBO Max, whisper mode + Dolby Atmos, 60Hz refresh rate, 30% volume, 50% brightness, average consumption 7.6W = 9 hours with reserve, at my typical work I estimate 7 hours
Too much power with i5-1240P, CB23 single 1645b, CB multi burst 9978b, CB multi stress test 7139b
16GB DDR5 4800MHz memory, 1TB SSD
Intel EVO gen 3 certification = Thunderbolts, IR FHD camera for Windows Hello...
Very good feeling when writing on the display with the pen attached.
Plastic sleeve for the touch pen that can be attached to the USB-A port for carrying
From bloatware only MacAffee and three language versions of Office (CZ, SK, EN).
The 65W charging adapter is a small compact GaN direct-to-wall adapter with a 1.8m long non-removable USB-C.
It's not a minus of this model, in the Czech Republic I have not seen a version with i5-1235U, which I would prefer, i3-1215U would be enough for me, but Lenovo does not give this model at all.
The NVMe drive is a 2242 PCIe gen 4, but the 3350/3200 speeds are more worthy of a good gen 3 drive. For most people, it won't be a limiting factor.
The touchpad isn't glass, it doesn't have haptic response, no one who hasn't tried it will miss that.
Cooling starts when it reaches about 50°C and shuts down when it reaches 39°C, when used in laptop mode with two monitors and running YT it has a problem to drop to the limit where it stops, here it helped to lift the back and thus give more space for air supply to the cooling, then it is OK, as well as it is OK when used in presentation mode or tent.
The touch pen is not magnetic and does not have a dedicated storage position, the included sleeve for the USB-A port is functional, but not twice as practical
The quality of the speakers was horrible the first time I listened to it, later I didn't find it so bad, especially with Dolby Atmos active, who hasn't used Macbooks will definitely be satisfied
The keyboard backlight does not turn off automatically after a while of non-use, it has to be turned off manually when watching movies at night, otherwise it is distracting.
Adapter with non-removable cable, could be more versatile.
