A failed crossover of a ThinkPad and a laptop for 7k. It has a slightly above average design, a poor keyboard, "bastard style" parts replacement is non-existent (except for the SSD and unconnected RAM part), Lenovo prefers not to provide detailed information about the displays they sell and the CZSK market only got those configurations with AMD processors that have the absolute worst display. Construction: all-metal but still mid. Immediately there are fingerprints on all surfaces. The keyboard flexes a little but I had higher expectations from the all-metal. The display cover is made of metal but is still susceptible to bending due to its thinness. The keyboard uses a new style, which differs from the T series with a shorter press. The buttons are aesthetically pleasing, flat, cold, and slide an awful lot. In all aspects (except the aesthetic one) it is a significant deterioration. The quality of typing on the 8-year-old ThinkPad T470 and the cheap(and even older) G50-70 is incomparably better. The keyboard is reasonably segmented (ThinkPad-ish) - the arrow keys can be found blindly and both numlock and capslock have their own LED indicators. The keyboard backlighting is nice and unlike the competition it has logical switching via the space bar(so you don't have to look for F8). The trackpad is great. Palm rejection works very well. Ctrl and Fn are swapped compared to the normal keyboard layout but in BIOS they can be swapped in software. Just ThinkPad stuff. Display: The exact specifications of the display are not given by the manufacturer, Alza chat with the so-called. The "Lenovo expert" is useless and has no choice but to pull information 1) from reddit 2) by phone from Lenovo support (the gentleman at support is very nice and helpful, unfortunately he only has a customer datasheet. ) 3) so that I ordered it myself well... The configuration(21JT000JCK) therefore comes with the absolute worst possible display(300nits, 45% NTSC). The driver detects it as 8bpc FreeSync with a range of 40-60Hz. The colors are poor. The display visibly flickers even at maximum brightness, so it is probably 6bpc (+2bpc @120Hz FRC). The display is therefore not suitable for any long work with anything in colour. After less than an hour of working with black and white text, my eyes got so tired that they stopped wanting to focus. After a short rest, I started using a proper external monitor instead. However, the display is not satisfactory even as a second monitor. Viewing angles are a misery. From a distance of 40cm, I have trouble seeing the whole area in full brightness. At a price of around 20k, totally unacceptable. There is a variant with better display (1920x1200, 400 nits, 100% sRGB, supposedly true 8bpc) CZSK market did not get it with AMD processor but maybe in Mexico they have it. (model 21JU0009LM) Performance wise, it's a two year old Ryzen (8x Zen3) in a new package. CPU performance plenty. However, it should be noted that AMD is discontinuing driver support for the Vega architecture. Therefore, no optimizations will be issued. Just Radeon and drivers. Golden Intel. The fan has the correct curve and even at 100% load it is barely audible. The power button is placed where it should be, outside the keyboard. The charging brick is fairly small, charges quickly and there is a replaceable cable on the AC side. Power is supplied via USB-C. The battery has tremendous battery life, about double that of my old T470. Very pleasant finding. Despite its qualities, it's only a below-average usable laptop at an above-average price due to the poor keyboard and especially the disastrous display.
