I thought I had bought an adequate replacement with win for my macbook air 13.3, but I will have to return it. the laptop is great, if not for the fact that even with a tight shutdown consumes in 12h about 30% battery.
The laptop is small, solid, truly all-metal. Arch Linux installed, everything works without problems. I recommend disabling USB always on in BIOS, because the laptop can't do deep sleep and the Wi-Fi/BT module wakes it up easily.
The integrated 680M can even handle Dota 2 or GTA IV at 60 fps. It's a great addition to a powerful desktop when you need something fast and functional on the go or want to move freely around your home.
works great on Linux
without OS
metal construction
power
one of the better IPS, better colours compared to the older Ideapad
3 years warranty after registration
great keyboard
Charges via USB-C
is really light
Wi-Fi 6E (the 7E would be more pleasing)
copilot button is completely useless in a laptop sold without OS
I've been looking for a replacement for a MacBook Air M3 14" for Linux, I've had this laptop for a while, but the Fedora 42 installation went without a hitch, the camera works, Wifi works, everything seems to work. The initial update of the dnf up packages was successful (1718). I have to say that Lenovo has been making some interesting products in recent years. Overall, it's the perfect ntb for me to have with me all the time, for development, server management, etc. ideal, it will also be great for students, for work or multimedia or anyone who wants an open-source OS, wants to control their privacy and doesn't want to be locked into one ecosystem.
Fedora 42 Workstation edition - functional "out of the box"
All-metal, light weight, small size
USB-C charging, charger included
Nice display with uniform backlight, more than sufficient for the price range
It was supposed to be without OS but the OS I found there was Win10. When installing Win11 hitch, the clean install doesn't have the wifi driver and without networking the install can't complete. I had to use a USB to ethernet adapter to complete the installation and then it downloaded the necessary drivers for the rest of the devices.
For the price, I think it's great.
Lots of RAM, huge SSD drive.
Metal body, lightweight, thin.
. but still plenty of connectors, enough HDMI and enough USB
IR recognition for Windows hello.
It's not exactly a solid body.
Resolution is rather average for today
Real consumption in my opinion is 8-10h max with really light use, but rather less. 19h endurance is a delusion and a lie.
Don't leave the ntb from Win in sleep mode, it eats up the battery.
Despite turning off all "fast boots" and similar features, the ntb still discharges slowly down the percentages even when completely shut down. It is not suitable if you run your PC once every 14 days.
