The sensor can be built into the Lego train so that the train recognizes the different colored bricks that you place on the track. Thanks to the Powered Up app, the train can then be programmed to take an action when it crosses a given colour, such as stopping or reversing, or speeding up or slowing down. For a relatively low price, you can learn a lot of interesting functions on the train.
With a bit of "coding" it allows you to set the train to stop, to move or to sound the horn
Once connected to the Hub, lights can no longer be added - but this is not the fault of the product: )

LegoPoweredUp - lots of features
the sensor also works as a colored light
It also works as an infrared control for older Lego Power Functions
quite difficult programming in Lego PowerdUp, for children like 12+, it' s hard to find manuals and technical documentation (for example for infrared control)
