The firmware with backup software is an integral part of the HDD (for environments older than Win10, it allows read-only access to the HDD). Automatic backups can be annoying and require additional settings or deactivation.

I don' t recommend, don' t buy it. After turning it on, I installed what was recommended for MacOS. I started copying about 10GB of photos. i had it copy and in the middle of the process the drive started beeping and beeping and beeping endlessly, it just got stuck. So, as usual, I had to turn off the disk using an unrecommended method because it kept beeping and it could not be ejected properly. After that, no matter what computer I tried, it kept beeping and wouldn' t start, so it was a complete waste of time for me, I complained and they immediately refunded my money, so it' s a useless Czech product.
Alza as a con artist? On the box it says 3 years Rescue Data Recovery Service and when you look at the Alza website, they don't have it there.
I called support and by finding out about the error, they offered me a 150 Kc voucher and I had to ask for it. In the end, I declined the voucher and said I would write this review. You can find out that it is 3 Years old on Seagate.cz. so be careful what they offer you here and what information they write!
