4k image but otherwise basic camera, no sound. no name brand will do the same service for a better price (put everything behind a firewall)

Hikvision support is not working - if you forget the password or buy a used camera, it is not possible to reset the camera but just send a request to support in India where they should send you a file that resets the camera. even after 5 days, I haven't heard back.
it heats terribly despite its low consumption. I wonder how long it'll last in the summer when the sun's baking on it. there's even a "hot surface" warning on the camera.
no image recognition of objects (person, shape, license plate).

Great camera in price/performance ratio. It doesn't have any advanced functions, but for simple space surveillance with motion detection it is absolutely sufficient. The picture is excellent.
