Alza claims the material is glass. I just don't believe it, I've had a real glass kettle in my hands before and this is 99% plastic in my opinion.
The wall of the kettle is indeed double, as the description claims, but not all the way up! There's also a rather pointless metal strip (a design element) on top that gets hot, and the rest of the plastic above it is hot too, because for some unfathomable reason the wall is already simple there.
So I feel cheated.
The kettle could do with a slightly thicker heating element in this size. It's not a complete disaster, but adding 300-500 watts would be nice. The heating speed is a bit annoying.
