I use to convert the image from apple tv to projector with vga. It's working.
Some tvs have a problem with, "range" probably frequency. I don't know how to solve this. But a lot of TVs have hdmi nowadays, so it's not such a problem.
Because of the extra power cable - but that's really a small thing.
