After the experience with the 5SC 500i, I bought the 5SC 750i for other appliances that need more power. Unfortunately, although it is a top UPS with true sine output, it is unusable for me. It has a mini fan that whirs madly whenever the UPS is charging. Which, thanks to the otherwise useful ABM (battery cycling) feature, happens quite often and can go on for days. The fan runs despite the fact that the UPS is otherwise completely frozen.
Returned for this reason. I ended up choosing the EATON Ellipse PRO 850 and it looks promising.
Classic 5SC - true sine, display, replaceable battery, tin case, USB/RS232 connection, etc. - a quality UPS that finds its place in the server room
Absolutely unsuitable for living spaces - very noisy fan that runs whenever it is charging, which it does quite often and for a long time
