BWT water filter technology retains the natural magnesium in water and adds it to water when it is filtered. A volume of 2.7l of filtered water contains about 65mg of magnesium, which is equivalent to 7 apples. It also removes harmful chlorine, copper, lead or undesirable organic compounds from water. To obtain this level of cleanliness the kettle uses a multiple-filtration process. The fabric piece at the intake captures larger particles, the activated carbon granules absorb contamination and fragrance removing substances, the ion exchanger absorbs heavy metals and calcium elements while adding anions and cations to the water. Finally, the fine filter at the outlet acts as a last check against any small particles that may still remain in the filtered water.
The filters have a life of about one month (up to 120l), but the kettle tells you by means of an electronic indicator when the filter needs to be replaced. This ensures that the filter will still work and remove all harmful substances from the water.
