For starters, as someone here writes about the complicated installation and the fact that you can't use the included tape, he's bullshitting. And now for the printer:
Excellent pro printer, robust design, automatic ribbon identification, just the kind of pro standard we are used to at Brother (e.g. for tape recorders). The printer is pleasantly small and the operation is quiet. I recommend putting a box or tray for labels in front of the printer. When printing in bulk, it just spits out one after the other, maybe they could have integrated some sort of pull-out drawer as is common with large printers.
A maximum tape width of 62 mm is a parameter to keep in mind. This is sufficient for office use, but may not be sufficient for some specific purposes (e.g. The mail room requires 105 mm).
Installation is simple, both included tapes can be used without any problem. The range of belts offered is wide, both original and alternative. You can also buy tapes without adhesive, so you can use it for various protocols, receipts, etc. In the box with the printer and with every ribbon you buy there is a simple leaflet with the available ribbons, but I would appreciate some more advanced guide, there are a lot of them and finding what I need on Brother's website is a bit of a pain. Finally, I made my own excel spreadsheet with labels, label dimensions and properties.
The control software has two modes. Express is as simple as it gets and you can print right away without learning. Professional has a lot of settings and options, you can work with variables (date, time. ), batch printing, distributed printing (to multiple printers), etc., but you have to play around with it and learn it. But it's completely free and doesn't require any subscriptions for premium features like competing printers.
