Definitely a good choice, no "bakelite" and great ceramic coated plates. The manufacturer recommends not to put the plates in the dishwasher - they are made of aluminium and the coating would suffer unnecessarily. But they're so wonderfully easy to clean and wash that there's no need at all. After washing and wiping, they should be heated in a toaster oven for a minute to dry hard-to-reach spots.
