In fact, I've traveled a bit with it, and after thinking about switching to a smaller model, I'm over it because the body isn't that big and the 18-inch display is actually great
Asus software support I like. I used to be skeptical but just when something doesn't work for a while, a fix comes (or even the possibility to undervolt the CPU that people wanted)
Graphics have standard coil whine, asus generally suffers from this. But in geforce you set max FPS and it's fine.
Little things that disappear after a while because it's just the first time you do everything on one machine.

I've tried both: G834JY and G834JZ. I definitely recommend getting this more powerful version. Not only better graphics, but also a bigger disk and I find it subjectively quieter.
I use the laptop for sim racing with the Varjo Aero VR set. The performance is sufficient for maximum resolution, although the fans run at maximum and it is relatively noisy. The laptop surprisingly doesn't heat up much, but I noticed that the adapter, which is 330W and larger than a regular laptop, heats up extremely (you almost couldn't touch it with your hand), which I've read is common in gaming laptops. I'll fix it with a fan just in case. The included adapter is sold separately for about 8000 CZK! It is large, but you can get a travel version in minimal dimensions. Size-wise, the laptop is even smaller than my previous Acer Nitro 17".
The 18" display just magnifies the image in portrait and the edges of the monitor are minimal, which I think will have a detrimental effect on robustness. And I mean that both variants that I had had a noticeable inhomogeneous color fringing around the edges, which is only visible at night. It gets worse when pressure is applied to the spot. I'd definitely recommend treating it gently and opening only at the center, as my desktop LG monitor (also edgeless) did the same thing, where the condition worsened several times over time - rotating it on the arm by reaching the sides of the monitor. Otherwise, there is nothing else to say, the laptop is really great! 💯
A pleasant surprise was also the possibility to buy a warranty for the 3rd year directly from ASUS.

Already my second experience with Asus NTB and again the same problem with quality control when applying liquid metal and correct pressure of the heat sink. Two of the 8 cores immediately go up to 98°C under load and the processor starts to thermally throttle and reduce power consumption from 170W to about 110W (the other performance cores are only about 70°C). In games, the processor is permanently over 90°C because of this. I had the same problem with SCAR 17 SE, where after overclocking the 12950hx processor in full load in CB23 with 170W consumption does not exceed 85°C, then in games it is at 70°C (originally also one core immediately went up to 98°C)

Compared to the SE version, where the 3080ti is, it's a huge performance increase (I would say 2x). Fifa23 - 4k - ultra - 3080ti 16gb around 60FPS. This is 128FPS, but that may be because the monitor can't do more. Other games have a similar increase, it's just, as the youngsters say, it's crazy. Cooling is a tale that caresses the soul. You get used to 95, but here's 85. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. The display is perfect, but I don't get much use out of that (external), so I reached for this one instead of its LED brother.
