It fulfills the function - I can connect the water pump to the SATA from the power supply and I don't have to connect a whole other cable with molex, which of course I don't have anything else connected in the PC. However, if I had a transparent cabinet, I would probably try to hide it somewhere deep, brightly coloured cables, each connector a different colour, but it looks a bit anachronistic. A braid would be ideal, but at least if it was all black.

I needed a molex to power the water pump and without this reduction I had to connect a separate cable with MOLEXes to the power supply which took up space unnecessarily, this way I could use one free sata power connector which would otherwise be left empty thanks to the position on the cable and the position of the drives anyway. It allowed me to have better cable management.
