We just plugged the TV in today, so we have a very short experience and I can only compare with an older 13 year old TV. The picture and sound are excellent. The menu and overall control of the TV is a bit more complicated, but I think it's a matter of habit. The controller is minimalistic and I miss the direct channel number selection on it. But maybe I'll figure that out eventually.

I changed the TV after 11 years and I chose between Samsung and LG. This time the choice fell on Samsung. OLED TV is more expensive but I definitely don't regret it. It's really a different quality of image. This 48" model has a glossy panel(according to LG's internet sources) but it's no tragedy. The TV is quite light and very thin, only about 4mm and is thicker only in the middle and bottom part where the electronics and speakers are located. The initial launch of the TV requires you to create a Samsung account and an internet connection, otherwise add about "smart" features. However, I adjusted some of the picture settings according to the recommendations on the internet (contrast to 38, ECO mode off, panel protection off, brightness to 32). For the record, this TV uses its own TIZEN OS and its own Samsung Apps store(it has a more limited offering, although it includes all the major streaming services), so you won't install apps with the Google Play Store. Time will tell how reliable this model will be, so far I have it for a short time, so I hope it will last.
