A fundamental aspect of the HP X576dw is speed, which according to the manufacturer achieves 70 pages per minute. When we put it to the test, it outputted 40 A4 pages per minute in the highest quality option, while the fastest black and white option, achieved 1 page per second. Print quality was also excellent in this mode.
The machine printed a 10 page letter with color logos in 22 seconds, and a complicated 18 page color PDF document in 36 seconds. Its speed was equally as impressive in duplex mode, with a 10 page duplex letter printed in just 36 seconds.
The X576dw didn't slow down when copying from the ADF either, with 10 pages taking 45 seconds. Record speeds are achieved thanks to a new type of print head, which instead of moving side to side, occupies the entire width of the A4 page. It is composed of 10 alternately placed blocks with a total of 42,240 nozzles.
The quality of printed text with regard to the speed of the device is simply hard to believe, outperforming many cheaper laser printers. However, it is an inkjet printer, so more expensive multifunction laser devices can produce sharper text.
Printing costs are among the lowest by far, with the Epson L550 being the only device offering cheaper printing, but has a worse design and lower speed. The X576dw will be setting the standard for office inkjet printing solutions for at least the next few years.
