S-R1840 Lens Design

The optimized configuration consists of 8 elements in 7 groups with 3 aspherical lenses, 2 ED lenses and 1 UHR lens, providing superior resolution and minimizing aberration. By using the extendable zoom system, the overall length and weight of the lens has been reduced to less than half that of a conventional LUMIX S-series zoom lens. Even when combined with the LUMIX S9, it is still extremely lightweight at just 641g.
