Cordyceps is one of the most prized mushrooms in traditional Chinese medicine. The history of its use in China exceeds 1000 years. Why should we take Cordyceps powder (biomass) and especially when, when there is a fairly wide selection of quality extracts on the market today?
Biomass or extract?
Although they may be from the same herb, resp. mushrooms, these are two different products, two different ways of processing. But each has its own meaning. While extracts are actually extracts, which are concentrated and contain high amounts of polysaccharides, glucans and other substances beneficial to the body, so the powder or biomass acts more synergistically than extracts, because it contains all the substances and enzymes, that are lost during extraction. The powder form of the biomass also has a gentler action compared to the extract. Biomass promotes better uptake and absorption of polysaccharides into the immune system at the gut level. In general, biomass can be recommended for long-term use and extracts for acute problems. Around 3 g of mushroom powder (biomass) can be taken daily, but it can be as much as three times as much.
Digestibility and processing
Mushrooms must be processed in such a way that our digestive system can digest them. The coating of fungal cells is chitin, which we cannot digest. So if we want to make mushrooms, resp. from their cells, to extract the maximum amount of active substances, we have to process them in such a way as to disrupt their chitin coating. In the case of extracts, this is done by gentle extraction with hot water; in the case of some mushrooms, a second extraction with alcohol is necessary, i.e. a double extraction. In the case of powders, the dried mushroom fruit is ground using a special shellbroken method that disintegrates the cells for higher digestibility.

Recommended dosage
2-6 capsules daily, 5 days a week and 2 two days off or 3 weeks and 1 week off. 20 minutes before meals, with still water or tea, do not take at bedtime.
