Optimised AAO frame with Stepped Inlet Design technology
The Noctua AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) fan frame combines integrated anti-vibration pads with Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures technologies, which work together to provide the ideal balance between performance and noise. The special shape of the blade inlet creates controlled turbulence, which facilitates the transition from laminar to turbulent flow, thereby reducing tonal noise, improving airflow adhesion, and increasing suction capacity even in confined spaces.
Improved airflow and cabling flexibility
The microstructure on the fan's inner surface suppresses flow separation from the suction side of the blades, resulting in more efficient airflow and higher pressure efficiency at a lower noise level. A short 20cm primary cable allows for a simple, tidy installation, while the included 30cm extension provides ample reach for more complex setups. Both cables are fully sleeved, ensuring maximum durability and a professional look.
Advanced technologies for quiet and safe operation
The improved Smooth Commutation Drive 2 system eliminates torque variations and motor switching noises, ensuring the fan runs smoothly even at low speeds. At the same time, a built-in polarity protection diode protects the fan from damage if the poles are connected incorrectly, enabling safe installation even if the connector documentation is missing.
Stability and quiet operation thanks to anti-vibration pads and the SSO2 bearing
The second generation SSO2 bearing, which places the rear magnet closer to the rotor axis, increases stability and precision. This proven system guarantees quiet and long-term reliable operation. Integrated anti-vibration pads made of extra-soft silicone minimise the transfer of micro-vibrations to the case or device frame, while ensuring full compatibility with standard mounting systems.
