A World of Adventure
Vast and very detailed environments complement the classic features of the series, including first-person turn-based combat and an experience system that allows your character to level up. The story revolves around the nameless Hero and his party of allies that you can interact with.
A Journey to the Past
Dragon Quest VII begins when your father comes home with a map showing that the world used to have many continents, despite the fact that there is now only one small island left, Estard. You and your allies are going on a journey to the past, to a time when the continents still existed. If you manage to avert all the dangers that threaten them, they will continue to exist into the present. The evil Demon Lord will not respond to your efforts kindly, however, and will oppose you at every turn.
