The D5500 has a proven 39-point focus and a 2016 pixel RGB exposure sensor. The 24X DX CMOS sensor promises live images with distinctive, gentle colors and low noise levels. The system is powerful enough to allow continuous recording of Full HD movies and continuous shooting at up to 5 fps.

Compatible lenses
In combination with the AF-S and AF-I lenses, autofocus is available. Auto focus is not available with other G and D lenses, AF lenses (IX NIKKOR lenses and lenses for F3AF can not be used) and AI-P lenses. Non-CPU lenses can be used in M ??mode, but the camera's exposure meter will not work. For objective lenses of f/5.6 and higher, an electronic rangefinder may be used.
