The extract from the Tagetes erecta plant (marigold) contains lutein and zeaxanthin. Together with zinc, it contributes to maintaining normal vision. The product is supplemented with selenium bound to yeast and vitamin C, which contribute to the normal function of the immune system, as well as vitamin E, which helps protect cells from oxidative stress caused by, for example, UV radiation or blue light from computer, smartphone, or television screens. Taurine is the most abundant free amino acid in tears. The MOVit Lutein Forte 25 mg + Taurine food supplement pack contains 90 capsules.
What foods contain Lutein and Zeaxanthin?
We all know about healthy eyesight in connection with spinach, as our parents told us. But lutein and zeaxanthin can also be found in other leafy vegetables such as kale, broccoli, and cucumber, as well as in egg yolks, corn, and mandarins. However, research suggests that the intake of lutein and zeaxanthin from the diet is insufficient for most people (they get only 10% of the required amount from their diet). Since the body cannot produce them on its own, it is necessary to supplement them through food supplements.
