Zdeněk Petr: Music of a friend
A five-part reading from the memoir of composer and director Zdeněk Petr. The author of this memoir, composer and arranger Zdeněk Petr, worked all his life in Czechoslovak Radio and in the Supraphon publishing house as an editor and music director. He was practically self-taught in music, but he went through an excellent school of life - for many years he collaborated with R. A. Dvorský, Karel Vlach and other leading composers of modern popular and jazz music. Let us recall especially Peter's Song for Kristýnka from the musical comedy One Hundred Ducats for Juan, which (along with Vejvoda's polka Škoda lásky and Šlitra's Yesterday was Sunday) became one of the most popular, most played and best-selling Czech songs of the 20th century. In addition, Zdeněk Petr was also the author of a number of compositions in the field of classical music, in which he was inspired by Václav Trojan. Another of the readings for the sequel, brilliantly filmed for radio by actor Luděk Munzar.
