Youth in the shit 1 - Young man in the resistance

Legendary reading for teens

The diary of Nick Twisp, a precocious "teenager", by the devilishly intelligent C. D. Payne.

The ruthlessly frank humour is subtly based on the contrast between the naivety of children and the stereotypical world of adults. Nick is a boy with an amazing ability to get himself into trouble. All his inventive and adventurous escapades and intrigues seemingly aim at only one goal: To get rid of the disgraceful virginity and win the woman of his heart. Paradoxically, on his convoluted journey through adolescence, he finds above all a general joie de vivre and compassion - both very contagious! When you read this great comic epic of -teen angst, be prepared to laugh out loud. Recommended for anyone who has ever survived adolescence.
