Years of longing, faith and disappointment

The publication introduces the Czech public to the period of reformist socialism, normalisation and the "ringing of the keys" in 1989. Personal experiences of being active in youth organisations and representative bodies, the invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet armies, everyday life in normalisation Czechoslovakia, the crucial months of the Velvet Revolution, etc. are intertwined with reflections and analyses of the political and social development of Czechoslovakia during the period of reforms, during normalisation and after the Velvet Revolution. The author uses personal memories and official documents. In a special way, it brings the now historical events of the last fifty years to the present generation.
