World History 4

The fourth volume covers the period from 1200 to 1800. It focuses on the development of technology, intercontinental trade, and the expansion of exploratory voyages. These far-reaching contacts were made possible by new scientific knowledge and pioneering technical discoveries. Within this framework, Christian missionary work clashed with other religions, which would have fateful consequences for the newly discovered "New World".
