Wolf Solstice
Advent in the ill-fated year of 1282.
Odo Astore, burgrave of Střílky, wants nothing more than to spend a peaceful Christmas with his wife and a goblet of wine in his hand. But wolves have come to the Hříběcí Mountains. A few days before the solstice, the brutish nobleman Wolfin ventures into the forest to hunt. He kills seven wolves, but that very night, two of his children disappear from his estate. Were they eaten by wolves? Or did Wolfin himself, whose strength and irascibility have led to whispers of him being a werewolf, kill them in a fit of madness? Moreover, a few weeks ago, the skeleton of a woman with her heart pierced by an oaken stake was found buried near the cemetery. And so, Odo Astore begins to investigate the old murder, the disappearance of Wolfin's children, and to unravel the circumstances of other strange deaths. The snow falls, the dead pile up, and the prospect of a quiet Christmas fades into the distance. Will the Italian burgrave manage to solve the mysteries and restore peace to the Hříběcí Mountains?
