With love from the lake
A novel about the love of more than just swimming from the author known as Julie Caplin
Jules Wake, also known as Julie Caplin, tells a story of a love that defies all warnings, but most of all about swimming and its beneficial effects on body and mind.
When unlucky Ettie’s London career doesn't work out, she returns to Yorkshire, where she is tempted by a lake in a seemingly abandoned castle park. However, it is on private land, and the owner is known for chasing away enthusiastic sportspeople. Dominic insists on following the rules, and as his subordinate helping him to build a hotel, the spontaneous Ettie has to respect him. But the cool surface of the water in the hot summer attracts more than just her. The lake is a unique place for new friendships. And maybe for love. Because no one should swim alone.
Jules Wake
Before becoming a writer, this Yorkshire native worked in PR for many well-known brands. This experience gave her the opportunity to hone her writing skills and also to get to know many European cities that feature in her literary work. Jules Wake had dreamt of a writing career since she was ten years old. She made her debut in 2014 with the book Talk to Me. Her second novel, From Italy with Love, became a bestseller. The book is loosely connected in content to the other stories, From Paris with Love and From Rome with Love. The author captures the Christmas atmosphere in the novels From London with Love and Notting Hill in the Snow. Jules Wake's stories are set against the backdrop of attractive destinations, as is the popular Romantic Escapes series (The Little Paris Patisserie, The Castle on the Hill), which the author wrote under the name Julie Caplin.
