William Shakespeare: Hamlet (1958)

Czech Radio did not get to Hamlet until 1958. Translation by E. A. Saudek was directed by Josef Bezdíček with Václav Voska in the title role. The next production was in the 1980s. There were several new and theatrically interpreted translations, and there were new book editions, e.g. Odonian with translation by M. Lukes (1980). In the deep normalization, however, the Čs. radio was behaving abnormally because "the times have gone mad". We don't have a Hamlet recorded at the time.
