White as salt

The second half of the twenty-third century, two hundred years after the Apocalypse.

Empress Beatrice has destroyed the structure of society and a battle for dominance has broken out in Borne. The inhabitants, who have moved to the Last Metropolis from all corners of Europe, have split into factions and are at war with each other. Religious fanatics from Ascalon, cannibals from the Black Forest, natives from the infested swamps, the rebellious imperial army and the White Witch with the rest of her faithful – all of them form alliances and then betray each other again. Oggerd, commander of the small army of the Free Orgon, is trying to protect the civilian population and establish some kind of law and order. And Gowery, as he has done many times before, is unravelling the web of relationships to find out who is friend and who is foe, who is a reliable ally and who is a traitor.

The fate of Borne hangs in the balance and a new Apocalypse is at hand.
