We, the Whispers, are the living voice of the dead. It has always been this way. But not everyone likes it… Twins Violet and Clementine, gifted with the ability to speak to spirits, hold regular ‘sittings’ in their mother's canalside pub.
People from the local area come to hear messages from their deceased relatives through the girls. Everything runs smoothly – until other Whispers start disappearing without a trace. The girls are scared, but they have each other… until Clementine disappears too. To save her, Violet must follow her trail into the dark underground beneath the streets of Gloucester, where she will discover much more than she could ever have imagined.
