Wavesbury - Part One
Are you fed up with heroes who are tormented, poor teenagers, torn by emotion and searching for their place in the world? Do you miss the 'old-school' heroes? Then Wavesbury is for you! A man who has already lived a little, he has experience, resources, and a fairly clear idea of where he belongs. No hero of the people, he is a nobleman and a gentleman by birth and by demeanour. He is ruthless to his enemies on the battlefield, but off it, he tries to act according to his conscience. He and his loyal friends often find themselves in dangerous situations, not only in Scotland and England.
In the first volume, we remain in England and Scotland for a while longer. The second half of the 18th century is beginning. The attempt to restore the Stuarts to the British throne has failed. Scotland has been defeated. Wavesbury, who fought on the winning side, returns once more to the vanquished territory. What awaits him in a land where his red uniform inspires only hatred?
However, his enemies are not only in Scotland. Just when he feels he has solved his problems, he is forced to leave the islands, sent on a diplomatic mission to the northern coast of Africa. He sails away with his loyal companions. Negotiations with Emir Abdul Hamid el-Malek unexpectedly turn into a fight for survival.
