Vltava springs

A frozen girl with a Jewish star and injustices that Šumava does not forget.

The horrific discovery of the body of a Vimperk high school student, who seems to have been uprooted from her very core by the Sumava hills, shocks the inhabitants of villages near the former border zone. A dead girl dressed in a Jewish uniform becomes not only a tasty morsel for tabloid journalists, but above all a new opportunity for an aging police investigator. While he hopes to repair his tarnished reputation and gain recognition from his colleagues and loved ones, old grievances begin to resurface among the locals.

With each further step in the investigation, the story of the dead girl becomes more and more intertwined with the search for the true purpose of the still-hidden concentration camp Prameny Vltava. The girl's striped pyjamas seemed to bring the never-resolved fate of the imprisoned Soviet prisoners and the secret of Hitler's secret factory under Table Mountain back to the present. But how much is the girl' s murder connected to the past of Prameny Vltava? And what other secrets will the Šumava hills reveal?
