Vladislav Vančura: Rozmarné léto (1962)

Three elderly gentlemen meet every day in a somewhat dilapidated river bath on the banks of the Orše River: the owner of the spa Antonín Důra, the well-read Abbé Roch and retired Major Hugo. The weather is unstable, it usually rains and so Mr. Důra is in need of customers. So he spends most of his time talking and having small talk with his friends. But no quarrel is so serious that a glass of wine and a few onion rings won't fix it. However, a wandering magician Arnostek and especially his charming ward Anna bring a disturbance into their lives. One of several radio adaptations of Vančur's poetic text was recorded in 1962 by director Josef Melč.
