Vladimír Neff: Marie and the Gardener

Neff set the love affair of the hot-blooded widow Marie, the treacherous philanderer Jožka and the youthfully in love gardener Karel in the Prague Kampa on the annual potters' market. The six-part sequel was filmed in 1980 by director Jan Lorman with Rudolf Hrušínský, whose performance makes Vančur's juicy language stand out.
