Village in the air
The novel Village in the Air describes the adventurous journey of the expedition of the Frenchman Max Huber and his American friend John Cort, which they undertook from the city of Libreville in the French Congo to the Bahar-el-Abiad River. On the way back, the expedition encounters an impenetrable forest, where it is attacked by a herd of wild elephants, who trample all of the expedition' s equipment. They can only save their lives by escaping behind an impenetrable wall of trees.
In the forest, they find a river and on its banks a raft and objects that belonged to Dr. Johansen' s expedition, which has been missing for several years. He followed up on the research of the American researcher Garner, who conducted research on monkey vocalizations. He recorded monkey screams on phonograph records and also studied monkeys directly in Africa, but without achieving any significant results. Professor Johansen then traveled along the Congo River Ubarri into the heart of Africa, where he became lost.
Max Huber and John Cort soon unexpectedly come across the " missing link" between ape and man. And it won' t be a pleasant meeting.
