Viktoria Hradská: Knight of the Light Mind

The central character of Viktoria Hradská's series is the natural scientist, philosopher and national awakener Jan Evangelista Purkyně. Although the historical context might suggest it, the author does not offer a simplistic picture of a super-patron and high priest of science, but presents a complex and inwardly rich personality. A man who throughout his life managed to face human dullness with wise humour. The series was directed by Ivan Chrz and starring Rudolf Hrušínský.
