Vet 1: Big Dreams

In 1912, to be able to work as a vet, Nellie married her childhood friend Philipp De Groot, who had taken over his father’s veterinary practice. Although she didn’t love him, a strong friendship had connected them since childhood. Before their wedding, she promised him his freedom if the opportunity ever arose for him to pursue his dream career as a musician. This opportunity did indeed appear after the end of the First World War, and Philipp vanished from her life without a moment’s hesitation. Nellie, together with her colleague Maria, tried to build up a veterinary practice in Berlin. But her past and love soon caught up with Nellie.
