Valery Bryusov: Mozart

The story Mozart is not about a brilliant Austrian composer, as one might expect, but its hero - or rather anti-hero - is a poor Russian violinist convinced of his extraordinary talent as a composer. Viktor Preiss tells his tragicomic story in four sequels. The poet, novelist, playwright, translator and literary scholar Valery Bryusov is a prominent figure of Russian Symbolism. In addition to several collections of poetry (e.g. Chefs d'oeuvre, Tertia vigilia, Urbi et orbi) became famous especially for his two novels with historical themes - The Fiery Angel and The Altar of Victory.
