Under the Thumb

Viktor Palec, a retired police officer, coincidentally becomes the mayor of a small village where he has moved to spend his early retirement in peace and to pursue his hobby - carving. Instead of the rest he had dreamed of, however, he is getting acquainted with the demanding job of mayor on the fly. When a crime happens in the village, he wants to stay out of the way, but his neighbours expect him, as a former police officer, to get involved in the investigation and preferably solve everything quickly. But the case isn't the least bit simple. Who could have had a stake in the death of a controversial vintage car collector? There are more than enough possible perpetrators of the crime, and strange individuals are beginning to hang around in the woods near the village.
Viktor Palec feels the pressure of the whole village on him. Is he really destined to take on a complex case and solve it?
