Maintenance and repair of motorcycles ČZ 125 and 150C

The book we present to you was ready for printing in 1955, but unfortunately it was not published then. Its contents are articles published in the magazine Svět Motorů in 1953–1955. In them, the Šulc brothers devoted themselves to the maintenance and repair of the most sold ČZ motorcycles, which are still the most widely used among collectors and veterans.

Many motorcyclists keep their motorcycle in good order, but there are few who can properly adjust their bike, and even fewer who can find a fault and fix it. Why? Because they don't know their motorcycle. That's why we want to help them. With these words, the Šulc brothers began a series of 25 articles, which they planned to publish as a handbook. They covered in detail the technique of riding (riding a new motorcycle, driving uphill, driving in the dark), maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, chain tensioning, adjusting the brakes, tyre treatment), but also more complex topics (disassembling the carburettor, adjusting the lighter, resharpening the cylinder, parallelism of wheels, engine repairs, removal and installation of bearings, etc. ).

The articles are supplemented with technical photographs from the ČZ archive, comments on repair procedures and from the current point of view, and an assessment of what is usable and what is not. The insider advice of the Šulc brothers will surely be appreciated by the entire community of veteran motorcyclists even after all these years.
