Two old grannies

This collection of forty-three philosophical short stories by the Dutch general practitioner, poet, and writer is characterised by its charming poetics, thoughtfulness, irony, humour, absurd logic, and a play on both literal and figurative meanings. In these often grotesque, tragicomic tales, the author portrays the relationship between two old women, depicting love against a backdrop of decay, old age, and death—a love stripped of romantic notions and clichés, with all its certainties and uncertainties.
